Hotel Managers Awards Unveil 2023 Winners as Top Hotels and Industries in Nigeria win big
Organizers of the Hotel Managers Conference and Awards have announced winners for the Hotel Managers Awards 2023, outlining winners for this year are top hotels and hospitality brands in Nigeria and industries whose businesses play significant roles in supporting hotel and hospitality business successes in Nigeria.
Mr. Gbenga Omotayo Sunday, Managing Director of Tojum Hospitality and Chief Convener, Hotel Managers Conference and Hotel Managers Awards, explained, speaking about the Hotel Managers Awards, gave insight into the motivating vision behind the Awards.
He explained that, “The Hotel Managers Awards was conceived as an integral part of the Hotel Managers Conference, as we seek to keep track, recognize and celebrate travel, hospitality brands and hotels and organizations whose operations and jobs are positively changing the face of the industry in Nigeria and Africa.
“Winners are selected through voting. The voting process for most awards are designed to be fair and unbiased. It consists industry professionals, hospitality, travel and tourism experts, travel media practitioners and the general travel public.”, he concluded.
Mrs. Justina Ovat, Chairperson of the Hotel Managers Awards, who is equally the President of Women in Hospitality Nigeria, explained the place of focus and commitment to maintaining standards as benchmarks for hotels to be outstanding.
“Recognizing and celebrating outstanding hotels in Nigeria is a great gesture by the organizers. Hotels go through a lot of challenges and the pressure that staff have to bear while keeping true to the high standards of service delivery, makes it such that only hotels and hospitality outfits with strong focus and deep commitment to standards can remain sustainable".
“I look forward to welcoming and celebrating all our winners at the Hotel Managers Awards in Owerri on the 14th July”, Justina concluded.
The Hotel Managers Awards are in two broad categories namely the hotel and hospitality awards and the Corporate Awards. While the hotel awards go to outstanding performing hotels, the corporate awards recognize organizations within the hotel and hospitality value chain whose impact have positively contributed to the sustenance and growth of hospitality and hotel businesses in the last one year.
Winners for this prestigious awards emerged following very critical process of transparency through public nominations and public voting. After the initial nominations, the three hotels for each of the award categories were chosen.
Then in our effort to subject the process to transparency and popular votes and nominations, we embarked on a last round of voting. The hotels eventually emerged winner for each category is captured and subjected to ratification by the award committee headed by Mrs. Justina Ovat, President of the Women in Hospitality Nigeria.
Several other criteria were also followed for each hotel and scores in those were very important to the Awards Committee. Very high and impressive ratings on criteria of location, quality of service delivery, clients and customers perception, hotel ambience, classy rooms and quality infrastructure were also considered.
