Gov. Eno allies with FTAN, takes Nigeria's tourism podium to showcase Akwa Ibom State
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Enoh, will headline the 26th Annual General Meeting of Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), the biggest convergence of Nigeria's private sector tourism practitioners, come July 20th, 2023 in Abuja.
The Governor who successfully ran his electoral campaign on the tourism renaissance of Akwa Ibom State and won will address the silks of private tourism players and government bodies on the templates of his administration's tourism vision and delivery.
FTAN's Theme for the its Elective AGM is "Tourism: Today and Tomorrow - Setting agenda" reveals the deep concerns over the future of the sector in Nigeria and why it must gain traction with both Federal and State Governments.
Nkereweum Onung, FTAN President, disclosed that, "Governor Eno Umo's expected and confirmed presence at the AGM is a sign of better things to come from Akwa Ibom tourism and a confirmation of his administration's commitment to partner with organised private sector to boost tourism growth and promotion in the State."
The FTAN President further stated that "This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be an interesting one because the theme clearly defines the expectations of the industry from the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the new Governors of the States on where and how to pitch new socioeconomic tourism action plans for the country'.
To engage new trends and thoughts on rural cultural tourism landscape, Nkereweum noted that a sub theme, "Community Involvement in Tourism Development; Building Partnership for Sustainable Tourism; To create a BTB Collaboration, will tail the confab and also provide opportunities for surgical overview of the opportunities in community and people's ownership of tourism enablers
