Organizers Unveil Lagos Continental Hotel as Host for HMC Lagos 2024 and the Event Theme

Organizers of the annual Hotel Managers Conference & Awards, Tojum Hospitality, led by the Chief Convener, Mr. Olugbenga Omotayo Sunday, have unveiled Lagos Continental Hotel Lagos as the host venue for the 2024 edition of the conference scheduled to hold in Lagos.
He also unveiled the theme for HMC Lagos 2024 as, "Innovative Strategies: Nurturing Resilience and Excellence in Guest Experience in African Hospitality". The Conference is set to hold on the 13th & 14th July, 2024.
The excited Mr. Gbenga Sunday explained that, “Lagos Continental Hotel won the Best Luxury Business Hotel in Nigeria Award in 2023, hence it is very suitable for Hotel Managers Conference 2024 as we prepare to host Hoteliers from countries all over Africa and beyond.

Mr. Sunday explained further that the theme, "Innovative Strategies: Nurturing Resilience and Excellence in Guest Experience in African Hospitality" was strategically chosen for this era in African hospitality because of its implications towards transforming guests experiences and enhancing results in the industry on the continent”.

According to a report in businessday.ng/, it is worth noting that the travel and hospitality industry in Nigeria has been a very big source of income for the Nigerian economy, fueled by a strong economy, rising global consumer purchasing power and technology.
This growth has not been limited to traditional travel and hospitality plays, as digital innovation has created entirely new travel segments and competitors, such as new accommodation models, ride sharing, reservation apps, hotel, and airline apps, and other new entrants.
In the same report, according to the W Hospitality Group the hotel chain development pipeline Africa report that, “West Africa has the main pipeline activity with 20,624 rooms (46 per cent of the regional total), followed by East Africa with 29 per cent.
The six sub Saharan African countries in the top 10 account for 54 percent of the region”.
Still, according to the W Hospitality Group report titled Hotel Chain Development Pipeline Africa, Nigeria is seeing a surge in hotel investment and it has been ranked second highest in Africa.
The hotel industry in Africa is growing rapidly, and several factors, including increasing tourism, rising incomes, investment in infrastructure, and an attractive investment climate, are driving this.
