Miss Ikanna Okim bags Maiden First Class Honours in Law at UniUyo and a First Class at Nigerian Law School
Miss Ikanna Okim is the first to bag a First Class in Law in the University of Uyo's 36 years and she repeat with First Class also at the Nigerian Law School
It is a double celebration for the amiable and brilliant Miss Ikanna Okim, her family and friends, as she has stunned the academic faculties of Law of both the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State and the Nigerian Law School as she clinched First Class Honours at both Institutions.
Miss Ikanna Okim is the daughter of Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, The Frontier online newspaper, Amb. Sunny Okim. Miss Ikanna has come out tops after completion of her one year legal studies at the Nigerian Law School.
The 24-year-old law graduate made it again after breaking a 36-year jinx last year at the University of Uyo, a Federal University in Nigeria when she bagged a First Class from the University’s Law Faculty. She was thus the very first to achieve that after 36 years of establishment of the Faculty.
In appreciating her uncommon feat of putting her home state in the country’s education history, Commissioner for Information, Akwa Ibom State, Comrade Ini Ememobong had granted a scholarship of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) to cover the young Law graduate’s tution fee at the Nigerian Law School 2021/2022 session
Mr. Sunny Okim, her father, elated at the good news while speaking to our correspondent in Lagos, said, “I am very happy that God has done it again. My daughter has made the family, her University, Akwa Ibom State and our entire well wishers proud. Her double First Class is quite uncommon, and we give all the glory to God".
Asked what the next line of action is concerning his young daughter with brains and beauty, the astute journalist said, “Well, as children of God we believe that whatever the future holds is in God’s hands and I believe the sky is her limit.”
The Frontier reports that the 2022 Nigerian Law School graduates will be called to the Bar by the Council of Legal Education in the first week of next month (December) in Abuja.
Congratulations Miss Ikanna Okim!
