FinTechTour Lecture 2022: Prof Danbatta, Prof. Aje, Dr. Adoji lead speakers at the WakaAbout Africa event
Prof Danbatta, Prof. Aje and Dr. Adoji have been announced as
lead speakers for the annual FinTechTour Lecture 2022 with the theme of, ‘Unlocking
Opportunities For Nigerian Businesses’. The event is scheduled for the 22nd
September at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) Conference
Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

Nwanma Chinyere Ogidi, Organizer of the of FinTechTour
lecture and who is also the Publisher of Waka About Africa, explained that,’The
whole essence of the lecture is to bridge the gap between the finance,
technology and tourism sectors of the Nigerian economy.’
‘The lecture which will be the first of its kind in the
country, will bring together policy makers, media groups, professionals and
stakeholders in the ICT, finance, aviation, tourism and culture sectors to meet
and interact under one roof to share experiences and unlock opportunities’, Nwanma
said.
Chinyere Ogidi went on to shed more light on the importance of
the event, saying that, ‘This this synergy is quite important to ensure that
there is a seamless running of the industries in Nigeria and to ensure the
industries operate at the optimal level’.
According to her, the hidden relationships between the
industries and opportunities would be revealed for individual Nigerians to
latch on for improvement in their investments in those industries.
She said further that, ‘The objective of the lecture is to
forge a warm relationship among Finance, Technology and Tourism professionals
and stakeholders thereby realizing and appreciating the interrelatedness of
these sectors and their importance in the Nigerian economy.’
Professor Umar Danbatta is the Executive Vice Chairman,
Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). He is the Keynote Speaker at the
lecture while Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji is an Economist and Strategist and is the
Guest Lecturer. Professor Samuel Olabanji Aje is the Vice-Chancellor, Achievers
University. He will chair the lecture.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture
will be the Special Guest of Honour. Other top dignitaries expected at the
occasion include Honourable Hadi Abubakar Sirika, Minister of Aviation; Dr. Isa
Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.
There will a be panel of discussants at the event including
goodwill messages. Expected guests at the conference will include government
officials, politicians, traditional rulers, Captains of Industry, professionals
in Nigeria’s banking and finance industry, members of the diplomatic corps,
culture and tourism professionals, journalists, and members of the public.
