4th HMC & Awards: Participants laud event as 18 States, 300 online attend

Participants of the the 4th Hotel Managers Conference and Awards have heaped praises on the Conference, saying it was inspiring and changing lives and the face of hotel and hospitality business in Nigeria.

This is coming as the organizers of the yearly hospitality and hotel conference held its 4th edition themed, 'Profitability and Growth' revealed that delegates from 18 States and over 300 online participated at the 4th Managers Conference held at Swiss Spirit Hotel & Suites Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Mr. Olugbenga Omotayo Sunday, Chairman and Convener of the Hotel Managers Conference and Awards revealed that, “Participants were about 200 Participants from 18 States and over including Kaduna State, Imo State, Delta State,d Lagos State, Oyo State, Akwa Ibom State, Rivers State, Enugu State, Ondo State, Edo State, Cross River State, Anambra State among others. We had over 300 online participants.

’Key Hospitality & Tourism Practitioners, majorly General Managers of different hotels Nationwide, Sales Managers, Accountants, Human Resources Manager, Food & Beverages Managers, Supervisors, Hotel Consultants, Directors and Owners were among the cross section of participants", he further explained.

Participants took a brief moment to celebrate Koya Ahmiegbe whose birthday fell during the conference. Koya spoke at the Conference on the Dynamics of Recruitment in Today's Hospitality Business

practical sessions, group works with sections that dealt with how to manage expenses, budgeting and guiding deliberately for profit for the participating organizations.

The indefatigable Professor Wasiu Babalola, one of the host of the 4th Hotel Managers Conference, was also present. With a cheerful disposition, he infected the audience with much of his avuncular debonair approach while masterfully imparting knowledge gathered over decades in the field.

He was equally the Chief Host of the Section for Induction of new Members into the Institute of Hospitality UK (IoH UK) while Dr. Ebikaboere Moderated the session.

Other Guest Speakers included Dr. Mrs. Ebikaboere Seimodei, Victor Olanrewaju Kayode, Justina Ovat Mrs (Host & Guest Speaker), Joseph Edesiri Gbagbeke and Prof. Wasiu Babalola- Host.

Also in attendance Mrs. Kehinde Daniel (Ex Chairperson, Institute of Hospitality UK Nigeria international Branch)- VIPHotel and hospitality outfit.

After the Lead Speaker dealt with the theme of the conference, a panel was constituted the look at the aspects of the topic.

The panelist are Panelists Mr. Iniobong Eko, Mrs. Koya Ahmiegbe, Mr. Kingsley Emojevu, Jude Nwazunku Alfred and Mrs. Esther Iwuanyanwu.

The Conference also highlighted the importance of stable power, constant security and ensuring a high level of hospitality always by using technology tools were equally emphasized.

The 4th Hotel Managers Conference rounded up with the Maiden edition of Gala & Hotel Managers Award Night. There was also the Induction of new members into the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) and Induction of new members into Institute of Hospitality UK (IoH UK).

7. HMC Friendly/Partner Award: Oxygen Holiday Resorts Owerri & Swiss Spirit Hotel & Suites- Danag

8. Best Boutique Hotel in  Nigeria: 649 Suites Asaba

9. Best indigenous chain Hotel: Genesis Hotels

10. Best Resort Hotel in Nigeria: La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Ikegun, Lagos

11. Best Digital Hotel in Nigeria: Ogeyi Place Hotel Port Harcourt.

All the participants received Certificate of Training. The networking was great.

As the conference has ended, delegates from the various parts of the country countinue to celebrate and laud the conference.
