VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; FAAN ADVISES PASSENGERS TO GET TO AIRPORTS EARLY The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to advise passengers and airport users, particularly those at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to get to the airport early so as to complete their check in procedures in good time, and avoid the unpleasant experiences associated with missing their flights.er This advice has become necessary, as passengers are likely to go through a little delay at the entrance to the terminals, due to built-up vehicular traffic occasioned by increase in passenger traffic being witnessed presently. The Authority will like to assure passengers and other airport users that all hands are on deck to ensure swift facilitation and reduce the congestion to the barest minimum.

Reasons may have emerged why Professor Ben Ayade, the Executive Governor of Cross River State may have suspended Mr. Gabe Onah, Chairman of the Carnival Calabar. The suspension of the multiple award winning Mr. Gabe Onah, a founding member of the think thank group that established the Carnival Calabar, came as an aftermath of the Carnival Calabar Award which held last Easter Saturday. In a Press Release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita said that the suspension takes eff effect immediately. Though no reason was given for the suspension but sources in Calabar say it is in connection with the first Carnival Calabar Awards that held on Easter Saturday in Calabar.   YADUDU APPOINTED MEMBER WORLD GOVERNING BOARD OF ACI        T aptain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, MD, FAAN M The  anaging Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu has been appointed a member of the World Governing Council of Airports Council International (ACI). He, alongside two others,  Mr Emanuel Chavez of Aeroportos de Mozambique (President) from Mozambique and Mr. Dewananda Chellen of Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd (Member) from Mauritius were appointed as representatives of Africa on the Board. The appointment takes immediate effect.

 Cross River State Seeks Federal Government Support for the Repair of 156 Properties destroyed during #endsars Riot. The Commissioner of Tourism Cross River State Hon. Eric Anderson made this request when he Spoke to the Governing Council Members of the Federation of Tourism Associations in Nigeria FTAN holding its First Quarterly Council Meeting in Calabar.  He told the FTAN  Memebers that 156 Properties belonging to Individuals, Firms,State Government and Federal Government  worth about N73Billion Naira.   FAAN TEMPORARILY CLOSES MMIA E-FINGER SCREENING FOR MAINTENANCE The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that, as part of our maintenance and upgrade program, the E-Finger departure screening point has been temporarily closed to carry out some routine maintenance on the screening machines. Consequently, all human and cargo movement have been temporarily diverted to the D-Finger screening area until the maintenance and upgrade is completed. The Authority appeals to passengers and other airport users to please bear with us, as we hope to reopen the area as soon as possible.
